Italjet Dragstar 125 /200

A friend's son is looking to get one of these, I'm trying to make sense of them and their pricing
125 There seem to be a lot of 2025 advertised as 'new model' that look the same, they also seem to be
£3500 new (apparently that's £1000 discount)
When I look at older ones they're hardly any cheaper even with several thousand miles on
So were they £4,500 new and they've just reduced some old stock down or am I missing something?
Is the 200 more or less desirable ?
Anything to be aware of ?
Does a host of Malossi parts add value or become an insurance nightmare ?

It looks like they are discounted to get them out the door.
Regarding throwing Malossi parts at one, well it's a small four stroke engine - there's only so much you can do. There is a 300 but it is not available in the UK. About the 125 and 200, popularity wise, don't you have stepped licences or something?

Looks like MotoGB - formerly the Enfield importer - distributes Italjet. They also handle a number of the Chinese brands.
I'd assumed that it must be one of the Chinese-owned "Italian" brands like Benelli and Morbidelli, but it seems that it's still owned by the Tartarini family.
MotoGB usually has some price reductions throughout their dealer network, and heavily discounted irs Enfield stock when RE decided to set up their own operation.

We were advised away from the 125 by the dealer because of reliability issues and it being all show. The dealer said he would rather buy a well maintained Chinese scooter rather than an Italjet.
We eventually decided upon an Aprilia SR125GT.It s powered by the Piaggio i-get engine.
