Where has Google timeline gone?

Just had a kook at ny google inbox and all my timeline .essages have vanished
Any idea what has happened? and can they be recovered

google have been sending emails saying they will stop the timeline stuff if you don't sign up to it. They have been giving at least 6 months warning of this. So you may want to google how to sign up ti it, not sure if that will reinstate any old info though.

there was an email circulated a while back from google saying that lots of timeline data was deleted and lost forever.

Just discovered that Timeline is not available on browsers

Only available on mobile now which is annoying.

This change wasn't Google's decision - it was a consequence of legislation. I can't remember if it is the stuff around what data you hold about people or where you hold, or what you can use it for, but that largely necessitated this change.

I've moved it to my mobile, but it's very hard to understand if the source data is backed up and where and how one would re-load it on to a new device.

Recently renewed my phone. All of the timeline stuff loaded onto the new device. Believe it was through my google account.

It's beyond annoying. I really liked looking at timelone on my PC and now i can't.

Anyone else noticed that lots of days the time line doesn't seem to be as accurate, used to have granular detail at street level but now it's just straight lines?
