hello all, i recently bought a 964 cabriolet and i got it very cheap as there was a slight problem with the roof, it has newish roof and motors are new the problem is the 2 motors dont work in sync with each other and need to be calibrated.
has anyone heard of this problem or had first hand expereince, i work appreciate any rough estimates how much it will cost to do, Also my car seems to get very hot when i take it out and give it some serious poke, obviously i know they are air cooled engines but i just didnt expect it to get hot so quick.
thanks anyone who helps, i am so naive at the moment with porsches i need to know and learn so much.

calibrating the roof motors is a common procedure. I had a bolt fall out of the scissor section of my 968 roof once, as a result of which the sides became misaligned. OPC quoted a day to take the roof off and recalibrate and another day to put it back on.... work out the labour charge at £100/hr.
My local indie however was more competitive - disconnected the drives on the motors, recalibrated, synchronised the two sides and back together again without needing to remove the roof mechanism. 3 hours labour. sorted

How hot does you car get according to the oil temp gauge?

Mine normally reads anything from the 7 o'clock position through to 9 o'clock.

You're welcome.

For pressure 1-2 is normal when idling and 4-5 when above 3000rpm.

I can't believe you haven't asked how to check the oil level yet!
