Has this had any work done on the common problems, throttle actuators? Big end bearings? Vanos? SMG pump? Clutch? Gearbox?

To answer your questions — the throttle actuators have not been changed, but that’s very much in line with the nature of this specific car. Unlike the E92 M3, throttle actuator failures were not a widespread issue on the E60 M5. Most replacements you’ll see were either precautionary or due to high mileage and hard use. This example is a low-mileage, collector-grade car that has not exhibited any symptoms warranting replacement, nor has it been driven in a manner that would accelerate wear.

As for the rod bearings, the previous owner took the car to BMR Performance to evaluate whether replacement was necessary. They conducted a full oil analysis and checked the filters. The results came back clear — no metal shavings and zero signs of abnormal wear or contamination. The assessment concluded that the engine was in excellent health. At this mileage, and with the car being properly warmed up before driving (a practice it’s consistently received), there’s no indication or mechanical need for intervention.

This goes again for anything else because it being very low mileage they have not been needed to be changed.

All the paperwork for services and maintenance have been attached which is everything the car has had so if its not there then it has not be needed to be done yet. The car drives and runs effortlessly especially just having a service and all new brake pads, discs and tyres all round.

This is a very well-kept M5 that’s been preserved with long-term value in mind — not just driven, but truly maintained.

Why are there four services between 27k and 33k miles?

Did you get the last service before you put it up for auction last year?

Hi prestige123,

To answer your first question. It may have been the previous owner who had the car serviced and the dealership who acquired the car at that time.

The second question. Im not aware of any auction last year as i was not the owner of the car then. The recent service is attached with the dates.
