Buyers wanting car fax checks

Hello All,

I have a car for sale via PH at the moment. There have been a number of interested buyers, but they are all demanding reports from companies such as: http://oneclickinspection.com/

When offering a similar report from another provider, they all seem adamant that they must have a report from their preferred provider, to the point where they start to sound like an advert for that product.

My question is: is there a know trend of individuals trying to sell car history reports by pretending to be a potential buyer? Or, am I just being paranoid?

Its a known scam. They send you a link to get a fake check, it costs a bit, but they're a scammer in a call centre thousands of miles away with no intention of buying the car etc.

Are ALL your leads like this? Any genuine ones?

I think you may be right.
I'm sure I've read something along those lines before.
Any serious potential buyer will do their own checks and not expect the seller to do so. After they've view and tested the car in person that is.

It does now seem that these requests are not from genuine or potential buyers, as there are too many similarities between each individual e-mail!!

It's entirely a scam - to harvest your card details

The address on that page is the Tulse Hill Hotel, which looks like a pub with pretensions. Scammy McScamface.
