Anyone owned a 2017 onwards E Class Coupe?
Discussion
Just wanted to ask if anyone has or currently owns an E Class Coupe?
Pretty keen on one but most likely has to be a diesel as will be used for a lot of work motorway miles. Would really like the 350d but they are pretty rare although they come up now and again. Would love a 400d but above my budget sadly. It seems that the 220d's have pretty good write ups by the motoring press but keen to know if there's any gotchas to be looking out for. I am aware of the Nox sensor issues on the 220d's which seems to be possibly fairly common (across the C & E classes) but not guaranteed. Just wondered if there's anything else others have experienced / advice for things to check or watch out for?
Also, has anyone by chance had rear passengers?! I have two young kids so although the estate would be more practical, the reviews say 6 footers can fit in the back of the coupe so am (maybe wishfully) thinking I can get child seats in them without hating my choice of car!
If not no worries - just wanted to ask as getting reasonably close to start going to see some!

I have a facelift one, petrol though, so no use with the diesel side of things.
Mine has been great, after I got a wind noise issue on passenger front window fixed. What I can see becoming a problem down the line, is the complex pillarless window mechanism, opening the door not only lowers the front, but even the back window, no issues here yet though.
Backseat is roomy, I can fit in perfectly well, I'm 6ft1 something, getting in and out is a bit trickier but is helped by lowering the rear windows.

Sorry for such a slow reply.
Thank you so much for your advice and I read this a few minutes after you posted and it was extrmely helpful indeed!

I have gone ahead and got an E220d Prem Plus which arrived yesterday and have to say, what a lovely car! I totally see what you mean about the windows and indeed time will tell if that becomes an issue. In terms of rear space you were absolutely right, plenty of space! My kids with their seats in have loads of room and are really enjoying the novelty of all the windows going down and just the general look of it!
These aren't that common on the road and it's really nice to have something which isn't an SUV which is one of the reasons I wanted one. Have you got Burmester in yours? I think it's better than the B&O in my Audi which has gone back. Cracking car overall and hope you are enjoying yours as much as I am mine so far!

I love mine, it's a E450 -21 model, very smooth and relaxing, quick enough, and still returning 45mpg on a run. It has the Burmester, sadly not the 3D system, but the 13 speaker one, still it's easily the best audio system I have had in any car.
Enjoy your C238, I sure enjoy mine!

I hope OP will not mind me asking you a question.
I did want a new inline 6, E-class (had to be) saloon, but they don't sell those in the UK.
Then started looking back at the facelift model, and surprisingly there are hardly any petrols, but was lucky and did find one.
That model could even be considered better than the current model (which is a facelift, of a facelift), because I much prefer the more understated dashboard.
My question is, on MBUX / Info / Engine, have you noticed that it takes about half an hour, for the coolant temperature to reach normal?
I think there might be a general software fault, because when displaying the other coolant temperature display, between the speedo and tacho, that shows the temperature quickly reaching normal, exactly as one would expect.
Have not had any faults with the car.

To check the coolant, one does exactly as you described, it's between the speedo and rev counter.
