Last October when I purchased a Moto Guzzi V7 Special for my weekend place in Burgundy, one comment was “at least it’s not another Triumph.”

I already have a Tiger 1200 in Switzerland for touring porpoises, but now appear to have acquired an equivalent Sunday morning Jura (or even commuting?) bimbling bike for more local duties :

The test ride yesterday was a hoot, the price was right so I signed on the dotted line!

Lovely. I recently bought the older model, street twin. Such a nice bimble bike, encourages the joy of riding at a more sedated (and license saving) pace.

Indeed. I am already enjoying that experience most weekends with the V7 Special (a touch heavier, same sixty-ish bhp, but a bit revvier in general), and wanted something similar for here in Geneva.

I originally planned to buy their silver-grey 2017 Street Twin 900, but someone else had put a deposit down before I got there. When the salesguy said that he had a 2023 model coming in part-ex that evening, I remarked that it would probably be out of my budget given how much newer it would be. I've been a client there for over 20 years, both with Triumph (and indeed KTM when they used to sell both marques), under two different managements. So when he said the price would be the p/ex value plus a hundred francs, I'd like to believe him. Also Triumph's year end is June 30th, and he wanted to shift it quickly and book the sale in this period.

It's basically the same bike as this (even with slightly lower mileage without the screen, but plus two leather side cases and a topbox rack fitted.)

That UK seller wants £6'999 and I got this one for the equivalent of £5'400 smile
