Defender 90 V8 Engine

Good afternoon, is this the engine to have? Will be doing less than 6,000 miles a year and using it as a fun car?

If the classic is it the AJ engine or the Rover one?

I have the P525 in a FF L405 and it is sublime. Very smooth, pretty quiet (apart from the auto rev on a cold start up, not ideal at 6am), I get 25-29mpg on a tank with predominantly motorway driving, obviously less with more town driving. Doesnt bother me, it's a lovely engine.
