Dune Awakening
Discussion
Anybody playing this? Couldn't see a thread.
Really enjoying it solo, it's a grind but I don't mind that. Unreal 5 looks superb, good game progression, huge map.
Loads more to come and more maps. One of the better thought out games.
Really need a decent base design and a good spot as most of the best ones seem to be taken!

I was just away to start a thread too as surprised there wasn't one already!
Currently about 30 odd hours into it and doing it solo too.
Love it, I'm a big Dune fan so that helps but it is a really great game!
I do throw a tantrum and turn it off whenever I get gobbled by a worm but only happened 2 or 3 times but I do enjoy the risk of it.
Glad to see they are listening and made changes to the end game to make it fairer for solo players, but yet to get this point to try it out.

Haha yeah I was gobbled up early on, but so far managed to be ok.
At a bit of a sticking point at the moment where I just can't seem to get solari and the mats needed for the copter. Anything involves travelling a long way to get the mats needed (industrial pumps are a PITA) I have two bikes and a buggy, but still struggling.
I need to up my water game, water is EVERYTHING later in the game, you need 1k water for just 1 plasteel ingot.

So I just logged on last night, haven't been on for maybe 4 or 5 days.
Only to find my base and all my stuff completely gone! My fuel generators must of not had enough fuel and my base and everything got destroyed by a sandstorm. Literally 30 odd hours of stuff gone! Pretty gutted and almost makes me not want to start again!

Am playing solo too
gladly only been eaten by a worm once, its a serious grind but really enjoying doing it all at my own pace. Around 100hrs in and have a copter and couple buggies etc..
Thing that really helped me is having 2 bases in the north, one as a sort of staging post with water and an ore refinery and a main one on the western wall where all my aluminium production is taking place.
If you follow the quest lines and story line it will lead you to get loads of kit to build a copter and buggie.
But if you smart you can "claim" some scrap buggies and bikes at scav bases in the north area, I now have a couple mining buggies at my bases and do local refinement then fly the ingots up to my shield wall base to be stored and crafted into stuff.
I havent touched pvp yet and dont really want to but still enjoying the single player grind.
Only thing I hate is the melee combat which I think is dire, maybe its just me.
If you need a hand or want to restart I can be found on Dione Sietch Hajar and I can help you get whatever you need

Yeah it can happen, I always make sure my batteries are stocked up in the generators. Start again, it's sometimes good to get going again. I must admit I'm hooked at the moment, but at my own pace.Only to find my base and all my stuff completely gone! Thanks good info. Where have you put Northern base? I need to mine a ton of aluminium but getting the buggy there will be a trek! My base is marked in green, the aluminium I think is the grey circle where I did start another small base but gave up. gladly only been eaten by a worm once, its a serious grind but really enjoying doing it all at my own pace.
