EV comes with no AC Charger Type 2

Bought a used car from dealer last week and upon getting home, noticed there is no Charging Cable.
There is the 3 pin plug and commando/industrial plug but no Type 2.
What are my rights / recommended process? I have asked for one to be sent to us. My thoughts are this is an essential part of the car. It is a major UK dealer and bought less than 7 days ago so just wondered what law states with regards returning car, etc. (They have been a pain from the start to be honest).
Unsure if this should be here or Plod and Law, mods move if required please.

It's not a major part of the car, no. It's an accessory.
Many, not all including my own, home chargers are tethered and away from home typically you'd use a rapid. Some destination chargers at hotels are tethered, many you would need your own cable.
It's something you can buy from screwfix, or sometimes on marketplace (I bought a 10m Type 1 cable many years ago, then had reconfigured to type 2 when I changed car).

When our lease car was collected last week on the check list was the type 2 cable, so yes it is part of the car. They were not concerned about the 3 pin granny only the type 2.
For an electric car I would say it's an essential piece of kit and no doubt the other way around the garage would be all over it trying to knock you down due to a missing cable.

Yes, its annoying, but not the end of the world, speak to the dealer and iterate it is missing and can they supply you with a new one.
Worse case they are less than £100 to buy new.
When I had our used Discovery Sport delivered I noticed that the rear parcel shelf was missing, contacted the dealer straight away and he confirmed that the previous one was damaged and he ordered me a new one to be delivered straight to my home.
Speak to them politely and they'll hopefully sort you out with one, they should also be able to get them at trade rather than retail prices.

The point being when the car was delivered there was a granny charger, and type 2 in the boot...there was a tyre repair kit, there was an umbrella, there were mats, there was a storage cord for the boot, there were locking wheel nuts etc etc.Not all those listed above were checked or requested to be there when the car was collected, the ones that were included the repair kit, locking nuts, type 2 cable, the others they were not interested in. I guess they see them as essential or required when the vehicle is passed on at auction, the charge for a missing cable is around £400 far greater than most other items.

If you buy a car without an accessory thats up to you. Its annoying if you assumed one would be there but it doesn't stop you using it. I'd class it as finding your car has a can of spray glue when you though it would come with a spare tyre.

My brand new (2022) VW id3 didn't come with any kind of charging cable - the dealer apologised and said VW don't supply them free with the cars anymore. I never purchased one and just used the tethered public chargers.

My first course of action was obviously asking them to buy a new one but on the reply of them saying no (which I very much assume they will), I am wondering what the procedure is.
I don’t think an umbrella and a charger for the car are the same. It’s very much more the principle at this stage on top of the other issues we’ve had with it.

On a full EV a charging cable should be there, without it your reliant on tethered chargers that are not always available, say you pick this vehicle up drive it home out into the country and all you have nearby and at home is a charger point without tethered cables, your basically stuffed, it's a key part of the vehicle hence why all new EVs come with them.If you buy a car without an accessory thats up to you.
