I'm trying to find premium tires for my 68 Mustang. I'm replacing my 15 inch wheels with 17 inch wheels and want a good quality performance tire. I want 225/45/17 on the front and 265/45/17 on the rear.

I can't see to find anything in that size, I don't want to spring for 18 inch wheels because they are too big for the look I'm going for, 16 inch has even less options. I don't want to keep my 15s either.

Any ideas?

I've looked at Rainsports, F1 Eagles, SuperContacts etc etc. All seem to provide 225/45/17 but none of them provide a 265.

265 is a bit of an odd width isn't it? Try 255 or 275, maybe.

Oh is that what it is? I've got the fitment from some guide and the guide recommends 265 on 17s or 18s. I guess that's why it says or 18s.

I just flipped it to 275, much more to choose from

Those tyre sizes will give a much taller sidewall on the rear compared compared to the front. Is that the look you are after?
If not might be better dropping to a 40 series tyre on the rear.
