Hi all,

Since getting the car ( '87 350i ) the core plugs have been weeping slightly.

It hasn't been too bad but with winter coming I thought I'd try to get them sorted.

Had a look yesterday and there's one on the passenger side ( the front one behind the engine mount :( ) leaking and 2 on the driver's side ( front behind the mount and rear behind the starter ...:censored: ).

Has anybody changed them or attempted to with the engine in the car. It looks like a bit of a nightmare !

Otherwise it's going to cost me more in antifreeze than it is in petrol :( ( It's my daily driver ;) )

Thanks

Al

It might be easier to put some liquid metal (or similar resin) on them, in the recess, to see if that stops the leak. Give them a good clean with a degreaser first.

i did one on my 390.just in front of starter , could just get to it with the wheel off, but if you have 3 to do would probably be easier to take engine out and do them all
