Can anyone help me. I have starting issues and I've narrowed it down to the fuel pump not working.
I've got power but pump does not kick in.
Looks like I'm gonna have to change it.
No idea where to start.
Do I need to drain the tank first or is it OK to do it half full.
Not removed the panel on top of tank yet because I don't know what to expect.
Has anyone got any pictures of the process.
Please help.
Ant...

Have you checked your alarm? I had a similar issue and discovered that the button on the alarm/key fob was not working properly. When I used the alarm key, the pump worked perfectly. I used it until the key fob was replaced.

Unplugged fuel pump 6 pin connector and middle 2 are live on ignition and outside 2 live when turning over.
Disconnected fuel hose and no fuel coming out when priming or turning over

My understanding is twin pump using the brown relay, (mine is and I replaced both), it ran on one but had an odd quirk on LH bends that I lived with until the 2nd failed a few weeks later) ITP361 (I bought from Glencoe Ltd, but they are showing out of stock) and the cut-out switch is ecu controlled, so not a direct feed via, but 12v to the pump and earth out, which will be the reason they show as not working ATM (I did replace the top hat seals (which are 4mm threaded down 5mm bolts) and TVR Power supplied the rubber gaskets. I would need to re -read the write up on my FB page to refresh my memory. A@

Hi Adrian.
Do you have a link to said face book page for me to read.
Probably a real simple job but the fact that it is in the fuel tank makes me paranoid.
Thanks in advance

I am away, and cannot get the link ATM ...power off...it needs the filler neck removing/ tank sender access plate ...nylon shoulder bushes (TVR L0527 ..nylon, M4 x 3.56 shoulder bushes A/R) 2 x TVR L0526 gaskets. The ITP361 is a straight swap by undoing a M6 bolt and re hooking onto each side of the side of the tank and 7mm socket for the jubilee clips. (you will need some sealant for the filler to the body). Got the pump out under the right side panel.
Tested it and it appears to be dead.
Ordered 2 pumps and now searching for seals.
Will do other side when all parts arrive.
Thanks for info. Much appreciated.
Time for a wash as I stink like a petrol station.
🤦🤦👍👍

Hello Ant.

As per our messages - https://www.fuelpumpsonline.co.uk/fuel-pump-for-tv... - is the pumps I sourced. Direct swap with no mods to the cage required. Has the same ref as Adrian mentions above.

I bought a pack of M4 x 3.56mm nylon 'shoulder bushings' from these guys - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181932246762?var=691999... - but they appear to not have any in stock. Might be worth contacting them. You then need to tap them to M4 thread. These are resuable - unlike TVR's one time use items.

Got replacement gaskets from [what is now] Motaclan - https://motaclan.com/product/gasket-fuel-tank-ta-t...

Got PTFE coated wire - my plug had burnt out and the cables were too short to begin with - from these guys - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274005190163?var=574017...

Worth checking the fuel pipes in the tanks - they may have perished - I used left over E10 compliant hose I had left from re-hosing Wendy - I then used the old hose to protect the metal pipes that pass over the rough baffels in the tank.

Already ordered the pumps from the link you sent me.
Great price for a direct replacement.
I've bought a pack of 100 washers. Should be enough.
Gaskets is my next job.
Pipe and wires are surprisingly in good condition.

Thanks.

On a final note, you may wish to change the jubilee clips holding the fuel pipes to the various connectors to proper, stainless hose clips like these - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304737527534?_skw=fuel+...

I found 'normal' Jubilee clips on mine when I took it apart.
