My daughter has an old Citroen DS3. She has just had a letter stating that it should not be driven due to an issue with the air bags. They can’t be fixed for a few weeks. Is she entitled to a courtesy car in the meantime?

Thanks!

No is the short answer.

I guess if she is really struggling she could try hiring a car and claiming the costs back, whether it would work or not I wouldn't like to say.

Being realistic about it there are probably thousands of these cars to recall and I doubt Citroen could provide a courtesy car for every one recalled.

They might while it's in being fixed, but no.

Apparently you're advised to keep receipts of any extra you've had to spend on travel, eg buses, trains, taxis. Not sure what the compensation route will look like yet.

Not sure you can claim for a hire car, you'll need to have mitigated your spending to a realistic level
