I doubt he has a chance sadly, his right to stand will have to be scrutinised by the FIA nominations committee which answers to MBS from what I understand.

Tim Mayer was named after his uncle, the brother of McLaren’s Teddy.

Tim senior was signed up with Cooper for the 1964 season. He ran competitively in the Tasman series before suffering a fatal accident at Longford.

Teddy named his son after his deceased brother.
