Citro?n Urgent Stop Drive Safety Recall
Discussion
Can anyone help us ?
We own a Citreon DS3 and have received the official letter about the safety issue concerning the Takata airbag inflation. It is a STOP DRIVE recall.
We have registered with Citreon to get a replacement NONE ARE AVAILABLE
We phoned a different garage and we were told there are none available in the UK until possibly the new year.
Aviva, our car insurance company, will not allow a courtesy car and have said if we cancel our policy we will have to pay a cancellation fee.
Citreon are not offering anything and are NOT answering the phone. (been trying for 3 hours , then the call goes dead).
Stoneacre Wrexham , Citreon dealer who we were advised to contact, are not booking any cars in because there are no parts in the UK.
Is anyone else in the same boat?
Has anyone got any information to advise us?
We’d appreciate any feedback

Unhelpful reply: Yes, there are lots of people with this issue and if you google it, there are reports all over the place (2 on BBC news alone). We own a Citreon DS3 and have received the official letter about the safety issue concerning the Takata airbag inflation. It is a STOP DRIVE recall.

More helpful: Sounds awful and I do feel for you. If it were me I would look into the possibilities of de-activating the air bag - it must be possible to disconnect the wiring or even have it taken out completely.
Not sure if it would be legal to drive with it removed and possibly insurance would be a challenge. ISTR rally cars remove airbags, but fitting a full cage, might be required, which isn't much help really.
