I've got a wobble which can be felt through the steering wheel that comes and goes when doing 65mph+. Presumably the fronts are slightly unbalanced but it's only noticeable when both wheels align correctly after turning at slightly different rates. It's similar, but different, after rotating tyres a couple of weeks ago.

Alignment is fine as I had a 4 wheel adjustment carried out by Autotest by the airport after a front suspension overhaul last year.

Wheels were refurbished not too long back and given the ok for any bends, buckles etc. They were balanced at the time but I'm informed the balancer used is a bit old school and likely not perfect. The same set of 4 Toyos were refitted and from memory, ok before.

I've driven over a thousand miles in the last month and it's slowly started to irritate me!

As the car (P2 Volvo S60) and I are both seemingly sensitive to any wobbles, does anyone know of any fitters in the Norwich area who use Hunter Road Force balancers, or something similarly accurate?

Google only brings up Stratton Motor Company, who are quite out of the way - and judging by their showroom, a little overkill for my 21 year old shed money Volvo.

We have an on-car wheel balancer, just south of Norwich.

Prior to you noticing the problem, has the car sat for any length of time on those particular tyres? Just wondering if you might have some flat spotting?

Interesting, I'd not actually heard of it being done with wheels on before but Google has shed some light!

Depending exactly where you are, this might be a goer, could you perhaps post or PM some details with roughly what to expect price-wise please?

It can sometimes sit 7-10 days which I'd hope isn't long enough for any lasting flat spots... Or it could be!

I've had temporary ones before that vibrate like hell for a few minutes if going straight on to dual carriageway. Those disappear though, current ones are consistently there even driving 100+ miles.
