Suggestion: read during daytime & in presence of other people. Do not read after dark when you're home alone!

The power of PistonHeads! Someone posts a link and "bingo", within a few minutes the poor guy's website has exceeded its bandwidth!

Wasn't this previously known as the slashdot effect?

They all meet up after having hallucinations etc..

They are going back into the cave apparently. No email address to ask questions but no updates for a year...

Made up story?

www.angelfire.com/trek/caver/index.html

is the one mentioned here, and is the same as

www.holyshiite.com/caver/page1.html

where the cave was apparently discovered in December 2000, but nearly the exact same text can be found here:

www.angelfire.com/rock/vegan/cave.html

where he found the cave in december 1999 instead.

So I guess it's a good, but fictional, creepy story (no surprise there). Good though, and the photo of him squeezing through managed to give me the creeps all on it's own

Good story nevertheless

If it hadn't been for Dave's post the story would have left me feeling rather perplexed,

I read through the whole story with awe and found myself at the edge of my seat a few times thinking, No, Dont go back you idiots, Then there's no more feedback ... so I thought, I told you so!!!!

Brilliant Story though! Very well written too ...

Sorry, I sort of spoilt it, didn't I,

I wanted to believe it, but when he said that none of the pics of the symbols came out, I smelled a rat, had a quick hunt around the net and found the duplicate sites - good fun for around halloween though and had me going for a while last night

To me, the only frightening aspect is why any sane person would want to stuff themselves into a rock tube and only be able to move by breathing out. you'd think kowing about "Floyd" and his death would make them think twice. As for the actual tale, what a load of toss!

Has anyone read 'Descent'? by Jeff Long. It's on a similar theme, and I really enjoyed it.
