Not strictly true, there's a guy in Swansea with a white 944S which has the same mechanism for the doors. He also has a stuffed giant badger welded to the roof which adds to the originality of the car.

So he took a 2.7 Lux and put all the mechanicals from a Turbo into it.

Perhaps it would have been quicker to buy a Turbo in the first place

The doors would be quite handy if you only have access to a narrow parking space, and don't mind looking a bit daft the rest of the time

Aesthetics aside, anything with "just needs..." should avoided imho. There's no way they will have gone to all that grief and then not done the cambox gasket for example unless they've discovered something fundamentally amiss (aside from the obvious) with the car.
