Dog-Friendly Self-Catering?

Our travel is restricted just now as the dog's just had a big operation. But in September, we'll be looking for a short break in England, or Wales.

Criteria:

Countryside, rather than city
Self-catering, log cabin/caravan (campsite sirt of thing?) rather than cottage or airbnb
Dog friendly

Open to any suggestions.

If you go onto Hoseasons, you can put in number of pets, and it will bring up doggo friendly sites.

National Trust properties are usually dog friendly and can be easily sorted by dog friendliness.

Thanks all. Can't make any firm plans yet, but will bear these suggestions in mind.

The usual agents like cottages.com, sykes cottages and local agents usually have a fair selection of static caravan and holiday park homes on their sites as well as the cottages. Can usually filter by pets and number of pets. Surprisingly how the search narrows between one and two dogs.

I hear you. We always try to screen in the 'nice' places and usually not disappointed but but the worst place we've had was a late booking during lockdown in Wales. I think they were using the pandemic to nickel and dime on cleaning

Without a doubt the nicest Caravan site i've been to in the U.K and I know they offer pet friendly options for accommodation though I've never taken a pet there myself.

A bit late to the thread but I’d recommend Whitby as a destination.

We took the dog there earlier this year and it was possibly the most dog friendly place I’ve ever seen.

You were the odd one out if you didn’t have a dog with you !

The trouble with that is our dog isn't dog-friendly.

We booked a place by the sea in Norfolk in the end, using ine of two of the sites sugtested on this thread.
