2008 V8 Vantage HELP !!!!!
Discussion
Out for a drive and got a message on the RH message center saying GEAR POS DISPLAY NOT AVAIL and orange triangle came on. Couple of minutes later it changed to BRAKE FAILURE STOP SAFELY and triangle turned to red the red brake symbol came on, the yellow ABS symbol came on and the yellow DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL symbol came on. The speedometer and tachometer went to zero. Then the Fuel and temperature gauges went to zero and I had no indicators. I was close to home so carried on driving. Once home I shut off and left it for about 15 minutes then started back up. It was normal except for the GEAR POS DISPLAY NOT AVAIL came up on the RH message center and I could not close the roof(roadster). Then another message came up SRS AIRBAG SERVICE URGENT. At this point I shut down. Hooked up the code reader but there are no codes(and no check engine light). Took the negative side off the battery and left for a half hour (just to see if it would "reset"). Hooked the battery back up and started but all messages and light symbols remain. Any ideas or help is very much appreciated, thank you. I have only had this car for 2 months!!!
First port of call would be to check the condition of the battery. Are you able to check the actual voltage, and do you keep your car plugged in to a battery conditioner/charger? A poorly charged or old battery is often the culprit when it comes to electrical gremlins on these cars. Before you do anything dramatic, simply fitting a brand new battery may be worth a try. HTH a bit. BRM.

Thanks for the reply. I did check the battery with my code reader. 12.4V at rest and 14.2V with engine running. Not sure how old battery is yet as I've only had the car 2 months. Will dig deeper.yvr said:
Thanks for this reply YVR...I think this may well be my problem as it shows these symptoms. Apparently the CRM module is not cheap but not too hard to replace. Thanks again for the reply.Being that your "handle" is YVR, would you be in the lower mainland by any chance?? I am on the island. Do you have any recommendations for parts and mechanics if so? Thanks again.
