my wheels on my Panamera are getting a bit rough round the edges... the diamond cut looks smart when they are clean and shiny... but I was wondering if getting them painted might be the way to go... what with pot holes and touching up etc. they ain't going away where I live anytime soon...

Has anyone got these wheels but painted?
What's the opinion ... paint or not to paint?
One colour or paint the inserts?
I would probably just go a standard silver rather than dark or black.

Any pics of painted versions?

Cheers

A chrome powder coat would be the closest to the diamond cut finish and be much more durable too, a decent wheel refurb shop should be able to do a black wheel with the spokes in chrome.

Here is picture of one of my GR-Yaris wheels finished in chrome (double click for full size)

I had my 996 GT3 split rims powder coated with the centres being normal silver and the rims being chrome powder coated.

I was pretty happy with the finish, the lips aren't as polished looking as original but obviously require much less maintenance, I'd do it again.

I think the diamond cut looks nice and would refinish them like this again until they can't be diamond cut any longer. You can only do it 2-3 times. Having said that I think those wheels would also look great in GT Silver, Gloss Black or Weiss Gold. The GTS models had them in gloss black with a silver lip from the factory. Worth a chat to Lepsons or Whoopswheelsfixit whichever nearer wink

I had a 2 colour powder coat done on my volvo wheels. Kept the look without the diamond cut hassle.

Diamond cut refurbishing always gets white worm again - mine (Carrera sports with diamond cut rim and done by a very good company) only lasted a couple of years. So I power coated the rim too and never looked back. Hard to tell it's powder unless very close to the car.
