I’m looking to trade in my Fiesta ST-Line for something similar sized/automatic/ not too slow or expensive.

I’ve looked at a Clio and it seems to fit the bill. The equivalent Yaris and Jazz are just a few k out my price range.

Does anyone have one of these and have you had any problems?

We had one as a hire car, it spent most of the time being silent, when the engine did get worked it sounded a little thrashy.

I’d buy one though, comfortable great on fuel and just worked. I think we did around 200 km on 10euros of fuel

If you can charge at home have you considered a Zoe? Later car, slightly nicer for the driver (the Clio dash is basically unchanged since about 2006 with an iPad stuck in there).

What is the budget?

What are the gearboxes in these like, do they drive like a normal automatic, i.e creep forward etc.? Also with it being a four speed, does it get all noisy when you put your foot down?

I drove an MG3 Hybrid recently and loved it, it was the easiest car to drive I have ever driven. It has a three speed gearbox, and the more I think about it, the less I like the idea.

I drove it for an hour, and at the time I didn't care that when you floored it it sounded noisy as it was holding onto the gears so much as it wasn't mine. I know if I owned it I would be cringing every time it did this.

I test drove one a couple of years ago with my daughter who bought one and has since moved it on.

We both liked it and she had no issues in those years.

Reasonably quick off the line and economical but not quite as good as manufacturers claims.

Unfortunately we haven’t anywhere to charge. If we had I’d seriously consider an electric, second hand prices haven’t half come down.

As to budget, £10k plus the trade in worth £8k max. So a Yaris, Jazz is just out our price range for a year/ 18 month old car.

I’m willing to consider other options.

At least it’s a hybrid, not a silly 48v system and no electric motor like a Fiesta. I’d have one over a Yaris

If you like the Fiesta, that's last of the line ST-3 money

Cracking cars! 5 door available.

Or 2022 1 series will feel more premium, as will Audi A1 2023ish facelift, as will an A3 http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/2025052929...

Probably depends on the size you're after too, plenty of good town cars, and what you class as not too slow.

Mini is that bracket can be a hoot too...

Very reliable, easy enough to get 60mpg without trying too hard, well put together, stylish, good equipment levels.

Go for it.
