I'm putting together some 2026 F1 weekends.

One event of interest is Spa, so looking for accommodation for three middle-aged blokes. None of us would consider staying in a tent these days, so what we are looking for is either:

1. Accommodation within walking distance of the circuit.

2. Somewhere further afield, but with circuit transfers.

Can anyone offer any advice on this?

TIA, etc.

I would say glamping is your best bet. Yes it's a tent but it's pre-built with beds and has an electrical outlet. I also hate camping but have done this at Silverstone for the last 2 years and it's really not bad at all.

As above glamping or hire a camper van. Hotels close to the track are prohibitively expensive as you would expect during the F1 weekend.

Some pretty good deals on Airbnb at the moment https://tinyurl.com/4smytxsu the one at €300 per night, sleeps six and is very close to the track.

Local people also offer accommodation, you should be able to find more details online. It WILL rain, pack accordingly.

I've been to Spa many times. I enjoy camping but found camping at Spa absolutely horrific. Muddy and cramped, plus the tent was robbed. I vowed never to camp there again.

It's almost impossible to find a hotel anywhere near the track. I ended up staying in Leuven because I knew the town from doing some work for a client there, and caught the train to Verviers each day, then a shuttle bus to the circuit. I did that for many years running. If you want to be closer, Liege is on the same train line but much closer to Verviers.

This is what I would have said. I camped once and it was worse than Glastonbury. Verviers or Liege are the places to look.

We stayed here a couple of times to visit the GP: https://www.gulpdal.nl/

Some nice places to have dinner in the same village too.

We stayed in Monschau, a beautiful little German town 45 mins from the circuit.

If you do go, get a grandstand; we didn’t and it was ste. Absolutely rammed and difficult to see anything.

I can thoroughly recommend this place. Just half an hour walk to the circuit. (It’s uphill on the way back though.)

It’s not cheap but very convenient and the host was great (and didn’t speak any English!).

It's on Secret Hotels - but I couldn't find it because it's, well, secret.

Last time we were at the Belgian GP (2018) we stayed in the town of Spa. Sorry I can’t remember the hotel. It was an easy drive to the track each day and, as we had Paddock Club parking, parking was easy too.

OP here.

We've decided to go to Silverstone instead of Spa due to it (Silverstone) being a sprint weekend in 2026. Let's keep the thread active if we can, though for others who might be planning to go to Spa.

I last went to Spa in 2001 and was in a tent. Seemed like great fun at the time, but I'd never stay in a tent again now that I am old(er)!

If I were you I would try Spa for WEC, more to see and do, longer races enabling you to wander round, WEC do some great fan access stuff, or for an even truer experience try the Spa 24h their favourite event at the track, they lay on some great stuff and you get to see the night racing.

And they are all much cheaper tickets, WEC is still busy 80k people but nothing like F1, as a result hotels will be cheaper too
