A bit of advice needed from the PH collective.

This year we had a fairly large setup in BSJ, which was damn good fun.

An idea to keep those people with better halves happy was that we could get a villa or something a few miles away, and then let the chaps decamp for the weekend. This has several benefits:

1. Keeps moaning down to a minimum;
2. Means we don't end up having to take 2 tonnes of generators and other garbage with us as we can survive in a tent for two nights; and
3. We get some time at the start and the end of the event - I've always found the Sunday to be a bit depressing.....

Has anyone else done this? Any thoughts?

We've looked into it briefly, the major hurdles seem to be that most rentals run from Saturday to Saturday, so you'd be looking at a two-week break (or at least paying for 2 weeks), and travelling into the circuit area on Saturday morning is a bit of an effort.

Cheers for the heads up - last year we led an advance guard to BSJ and spent a week there in the end. Was good fun but a bit knackering. We added the cost of all the gear and motorhome hire and just thought about making it a bit more comfortable.

Will have to have a look at the various options. Agreed that Sat. am would be a complete pain in the rear to get in and out of the circuit. Firday would be the thing I would not want to miss so that may take some planning (and arrangements with local private hire companies).
