Into Ashbourne Last night

Had been enjoying some spirited driving on those peak district twisties in my new 182 on the way back from visiting the missus in Buxton. However as I came into Ashbourne I reckon I was doing about 50 (but slowing down to the 40 limit).

Anyway I came out of a dip and saw a police 4*4 sitting at the side of the road, I noticed there was both a driver and a passenger but didn't see if they had any detection instruments etc... It was dark (around 8.30pm) . I slowed down to the limit well before I passed them but I was giving it some as I came over a hill shortly before which they must have been able to see and/or detect.

To get to the point, Am I to expect a nasty piece of post in the next couple of weeks or does it sound like I might be ok? I realise noone can tell me for sure but a few informed opinions based on the circumstances would be much appreciated.

You should be alright the local plod do occasionally sit in their 4x4 at the side of the road but never with camera stuff that seems to be the preserve of the traffic boys who all use Vectras.

You should be Ok I reckon, A515 from Buxton to Ashbourne, then the A517 from Ashbourne to Belper

Cheers for all the replies folks, hopefully nothing will come of it. I know that road pretty well (and rather like it too) but i've never encountered the police sitting in that particular spot.

Ah well, another one to remember!
