Still - TVR looking,

The general info is incredible on this link, but still can’t find the Tuscan via trade that pushes all the buttons. (Registered dealers that I can obtain this new warranty.)

My dilemma is, I’ve increased my budget from my last post £25K to around £35k to get a newer 04 Tuscan mk1 with few miles, or do I go for a mk2. Love the styling of the original but concerned about residual values. The mk2, newer model but hasn’t quite grown on me yet. Not excluding the T350? Can’t quite justify a Segaris without a divorce.

Need to narrow my search now, surprised prices vary quite so much between registered dealerships for the same year and average mileage over all models?

Still looking, cant wait, it’s burning a hole in my pocket.

How about a T350, but with a Tuscan S / Sagaris engine fitted to the car? engine warrenty from TVR Power, and you should then be able to get the TVR warrenty from them too.

I only say that as there is one for sale in the classifieds.

altho' it's a private sale why not look at the thread above yours - 'T88CAN love affair over' - looks like a lovely car, well known by the looks of it and sounds trouble free over last three years, buy the new TVR used car warranty to go along with it and could be a great buy.

Hey Tufty - having the same dilemma myself. Looking to chop the Chim in for a Tuscan with a total budget of £35-£40k inc trade in

I'm airing towards a Mk1 S - The Mk2 seems to have gone 'soft' and for £35k you can get a low mileage 03 Mk 1 S, which is (IMHO) the aggressive looking car I've fallen in love with.

I know what you mean about the differing prices though! Good luck searching and please update us all when you've bought the right one.

Buy the Sagaris, get the divorce, you know it makes sense, or buy the cheapest Tuscan available, you'll please the lady wife as you'll have some spare spends to cope with the biggest money burners known to mankind.
But then comes the good bit, you'll also have at your disposal the most exiting things "known to mankind".
I'm afraid mate it's your choice, I know which option I'd choose.

If your in the 35k budget push a bit further and buy a new one, or at least a 3yr warranty model. Think Tamora's start at 36k, that did inc 18" alloys, aircon and pearl paint. Bet there are some end of season demo models that dealers are just desperate to shift. Mmmmmm,3yr warranty.

Save up and buy a Tuscan S Mk2. I've had a Tuscan S Mk1 and enjoyed the experience. However, the MK2 is soooooooooooo much better, handling, use of power etc. Don't let me stop you buying a mark 1 but if you an get a mk 2 go for it!

I agree with the honourable gentleman. Also, if you have the budget as you seem to have I would buy a new one because then you know exactly how it has been treated, run in, warmed up etc...

Just for the warranty alone worth going for mk2 alone. PLUS a mk1 imho will depreciate much quicker than a mk2 with a 3 yr TVR warranty. You should be able to pick up a mk2 used at dealer... this time of year, plus generally a depressed economic environment for sports cars, means you should easily be able to get one from a dealer....

Take your time, keep an eye on dealer websites, you will probablsee their stock is slow to shift. Find a spec you like and make a LOW offer, if you are a cash buyer they will probably go for it, if you leave them to sweat for a few days, play one off against the other...

Be careful, SOME mk 2 cars apparently don't benefit from the 3 year warranty. I believe the this only operated from MArch this year.

Personally i'm still concerned about long term residuals/reliability on the speed six,

BUT IF it is cheap enough, the warranty good enough (not sure to trust TVR, that IF there is a problem, their knee jerk response won't be, you must have abused it, you pay for the rebuild - EVEN in warranty)
and their are other companies besides TVR able/willing to rebuild.warranty their work it might be a goer for some.

Don't forget that the 3 year warranty only started in March 05, so not all Mk 2's have it. If you're going for an 05 car you might as well get a new one.
