I'm in Woking for a week in August whilst my daughter is at a drama school.

Taking my (road) bike to fill in the time when I'm not working. Any decent routes/areas to head?

Box Hill is 25/30km away, I've ridden it 3 times on Ride London, I'll do it once again, but it's probably the most underwhelming 'hill' I've experienced, so looking for any other suggestions before I blindly look at Komoot and Strava.

Thanks.

if you head out towards Pyrford/Ripley/Send there are some nice roads and that will jog memories of the old Ride London route. Onto chapel lane/ leith hill / whitedown / ranmore if you want some hills rather than box hill which you can make a route up for.

Other than that you could go out to Chobham - I don't know that area but I know a few that do go that way.

Alternatively flat route out to Windsor and wave at the tourists

There are some horrible busy/ fast roads in and out of Woking just to be aware, but pretty sure you can avoid most of them

Woking down towards Send, Hungry Hill lane, over the road up Staple Lane, right down Coombe Bottom, over the main road and there’s many ways up Leith Hill, go wild up and around there then vaguely retrace your steps via Whitedown/Ranmore/Newlands corner.

Search "Leith Hill Octopus", should keep you busy for a day!

If you're on Strava, you can select the starting area and then (usually circular) routes of varying distances, download / use the gpx, and off you go
