Hi

I am looking to buy a new car for myself and was wondering what you would do. I have seen a really high spec 2022 model with only 8000 miles on the clock for 69k

Alternatively I could spec one or buy a new model 25 plate 84-88k with a lower spec.

I know the answer but would you go new or used.

The spec on the used one is

PDK
GTS interior pack
Sports chrono pack
Lane assist
2 zone climate control
Burmester surround system
Adaptive cruise Control
Pasm
Heated steering
Entry and drive
Smoking package
Light design pack
Park assist + camera
Power steering plus
18 way electric seat
Xenon head lights

Any insight will be appreciated

It depends how important those options are to you. I could honestly live without any of them, and would actually prefer a car without lots of the stuff there. So, if you can afford it, I’d go new and to your own spec.

I picked up a 2023 model from Porsche Leeds in January with quite a few options and 7k on the clock, it’s like new.
Ended up paying £62k

You might struggle to get a build slot for a new one as production is apparently ending in October this year.

That looks amazing. The one I am looking at is in arctic grey. I can’t seem to justify paying for a newer model.

What’s your spec like. How’s the car been since you got it.

Did you do any modifications to yours or little upgrades?

Could afford it but it doesn’t make sense to me especially with the depreciation within a few years. Plus a new car road tax is between 4500-5000 for the first year which is very off putting

I can get one slot for October delivery but I can’t justify the extra cash for the car. Also there are a few on the Porsche website pre spec new models

I absolutely love it, every trip makes me smile lots.
No mods at all as I have 29 months warranty with it and I intend on keeping it.

The only thing I bought was an ottoman dongle so I can use apple play without plugging the phone in.

I have only done 2.5k miles in it since January but we are about to put about 3k miles on it driving from northwest England to San Sebastián over 3 weeks in August.

The noise it makes at about 5k -6k revs is really quite addictive.

Amazing. That sounds wonderful. I am looking forward to getting one soon. The test drive was enough to have me hooked. Enjoy your trip.

How much are you thinking of selling it for. Sounds like a nice car

I personally would go used as I couldn’t bring myself to take the financial hit with new car depreciation, just can be a pain waiting for your perfect spec to come about sometimes.

I bought a GTS 4.0 about 5 months ago and love it, spent ages waiting for the spec I wanted and glad I did. Although I am starting to consider selling to free up funds, it’s November 22 registration with 7k miles and £22k in options including PCCB, 18-ways, GTS interior etc, warranty until November 2027.

Unless I had access to a private track to get the best of one of the better chassis's of any modern car, I really couldn't justify 60k.

Last time I looked that sort of money got you a pretty decent 911 or M Car with less everyday compromises... If I wanted compromise I'd go for a Caterham and make a proper event of a supermarket trip!

Lovely cars though, real track weapon when they're sorted.

I bought used. New prices now are super high and the first reg fee is like stamp duty, 5k for nothing.

They are a great car but I went manual after driving pdk’s for 10 years, I find it more engaging driving the manual. If you haven’t it’s worth driving both.
