Looking at used id.4. At the bottom end of the market (£11k to £13k, 80-90k miles) there are some ex Addison-Lee taxis (including at least one at a main dealer on the VW Approved Used scheme).
I'm not sold on the idea of an ex-taxi as everything will have had a hard life, but I am intrigued by the effect on the market - Addison Lee currently have over 50 id.4s going to auction over the next week or so through Aston Barclay. Does anyone with a crystal ball have a view on what that is likely to do to the market - will they be absorbed in to the used market at current prices, are prices likely to dip noticeably due to the increase in supply, will they primarily compete for customers against other ex A-L cars or will they bring down prices of other cars at the lower end of the market?
I could just wait a week or two and find out - but there's no fun in that!

I can't see how it would do anything other than cause the price to dip as they all hit dealer forecourts, this is inevitable anyway though as the majority of new EV's are purchased or leased into company car schemes for the tax benefits and those companies will usually change their cars at or around the 3 year mark, so I would expect there to be a constant flow of 3 year old EV's to hit the market over the coming years, the AL cars are just part of that. A taxi EV is probably a significantly safer bet than the equivalent ICE. EVs love stop start driving and have no issues sitting about where an ICE would idle.
Good year long warranty to cover any issues and you’d probably do alright.
Hopefully drop the prices of ID4s as although they are no one’s dream car they are pretty good cars in my opinion even if I don’t like the ID range design!
