Hi all,

I have a 2015 W205 with the Pan roof, and a guide rail clip has snapped and now it's not quite sitting flush. Basically it's exactly the issue in the below video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taJMYOkFaOI

Seems very common, but what I'm looking for is a specialist garage (ideally in the South East) which knows the issue and has done plenty of these repairs before. I asked my local place but they don't seem to be aware of the issue.

I'm just keen to find a place experienced who know exactly what they are doing with this fix. I had a bad experience with my local MB dealer during a recent full servivce so I'm not going to use them again.

Many thanks for any replies.

People have 3d printed clips that can supposedly be installed in-situ:

If you search google for Mercedes sunroof clips there are other people selling 3d printed clips, unsure if they are able to installed easily.

It's a common problem, so it's likely DIYable.

Worth doing some research before dropping a couple grand on it.

Please report back if you do go with clips - mine are fine atm but it seems such a common problem (only realised recently) that it might be good to know what option worked for you

Good luck

Hi all,

Ok so I ended up researching the best options and going with this option

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363941736631

It seems really good, however the sunroof wouldn't quite sit flush after (only replaced the side where the clips had broken). It's slightly out on the front corner. It's fine upto 50mph then you get alot of windnoise, but its sealed enough to be water tight.

I read to just adjust the torx screws, I tried this but everytime I do that it then won't shut - it gets a few inches away from closes then retracts back.

I can't seem to find any one who looks at these things profesionally? Likely it may just need aligning slightly and the programming resetting?

If I take it back to Mercedes they'll want to replace everything and its about £2.5k as they remove the headlining and doing it all from the inside etc.

Does anyone know any sunroof specialists? Someone with experience of fitting them, i.e in order to try seeing if they can fix it.
