I have heard some people complain about the transmission tunnel being too high, specially with the lowered floor. It seems that your it makes changing gear uncomfortable, as well as using the steering wheel. Have your found such problems?

The tunnel height in my previous live axle, non-lowered floor Seven was perfect.

When I bought my current car, a dedion car with lowered floors, I found the tunnel was too high, which meant my left arm was cranked upwards quite uncomfortably. It was a strange feeling!

I sorted the problem by raising the driver’s seat about 15mm using kart seat packing washers & longer bolts. It feels about right now, although I could probably get away with non-lowered floors.

Does the steering wheel touch your legs without the lowered floor? Or is that a problem only with very tall drivers? That could be even worse that the issue with the tunnel?

Not in my case, but I have fairly short legs!

It sounds like you need to get yourself to a dealership & sit in a few. It’s surprising how adjustable the seats, pedals & steering wheel are (albeit with spanners!). There’s quite a lot of variation between cars. Obviously there are S3 & SV models too.
