Deciding potential new colour
Discussion
I’m toying with the idea of re-wrapping my car or going down the route of a new full re-spray…there isn’t too much difference in cost between the two. I’ve mocked up some colours using AI, but none are really grabbing me, well, not enough to want to spend the £££ over the current wrap on the car which is in perfectly good condition. Obviously all subjective but any suggestions on colour? Think I’d prefer something bright and loud!

That is actually a really good shout, and does look great. My only concern is that as the wrap is at least a few years old a new wrap on the nose won t match the rest of the body. Edited by MikePRT90 on Saturday 19th July 21:53

What do you think of Porsche San Marino Blue (also BMW San Marino Blue) or Renault Liquid Yellow. They re both stunning in real life. Vibrant but not flashy.
(Edited for typo.)
Loving the blue, thanks it s been added to the short list!(Edited for typo.)
Quite like the yellow but think being a triple layer pearl paint will cost more £££

I'm partial to blue Caterhams...
I would say Nogaro Blue or Riviera blue as mentioned above.
Below is my Nogaro/French blue Caterham, I love it

I saw a blue honda e yesterday that I thought the colour was very nice and would look great on a caterham. I would say Nogaro Blue or Riviera blue as mentioned above.

No.1 option at the mo is to get the nose cone done in matching orange and add a couple of stripes. Just waiting for the company who put the wrap on to confirm the exact colour so I can order a sample and see if new wrap will match existing wrap.

My Caterham could do with a few minor body repairs and also quite fancy a full respray. What's the ballpark cost to respray at 7?
Mine is high mileage so spending a fortune on it doesn't make much financial sense but would like to freshen it up a bit
I spoke recently to Tony at TSK automative who apparently has done a few other caterhams from piston heads. I think he s based near GP sevens and does a lot of work for them. He quoted me £2.5k for a full respray including bodywork prep/touching up. Seems reasonable to me considering wrapping is between £1,500 and £1,800.Mine is high mileage so spending a fortune on it doesn't make much financial sense but would like to freshen it up a bit
I think I paid around 3k for mine to be painted by TSK. He went above and beyond though and we had a whole new side skin and bonnet as the old ones weren't up to scratch.
Colour wise, obviously it's all personal choice. I originally wanted it in Renault Flame Red, which is a pearlescent red. Tony had no problem but he did say if we ever needed to get anything touched up, it's a very tough colour to match as it uses a pink clear coat. Ended up going to Porsche Guards Red and it looks fantastic.
I hope I won't need it done againt but if I did I'd be back to Tony in a flash.

Get a Bright color - Kawasaki green or Bright orange are best IMO - both mean other road users have a chance of seeing you - sad tintop colors like silver, titanium, or black avoid like the plague. I've had a 7 for 50 years [my 5 cars were Lotus royal blue, ferrari red, and last 3 have been Bright orange, others acceptable IMO would be bright Yellow.
