Any Alfa Romeo Brera 2.2 S Prodrivers on here?
Discussion
Just about to buy one in almost tip top condition.
How have you found the overall experience of owning, driving and maintaining one?
Previously owned a rare 2.0 JTDM diesel Brera (now for sale on Gumtree) that got rear-ended and written off after 8 great years. Hearbreaking.

Have owned a 2.2 Prodrive for the last 6 years, Love the car but not very user friendly for the wife as she finds the suspension quite hard on country roads.
The car has been totally reliable apart from the power steering hose failing which is a common issue but easily fixed, the main costs have been for me mainly maintaining it to a high standard as I plan to keep it long term
In the time Ive had it I have done the following, full respray and PPF on the front end and doors (Red does pick up a lot of stone chips hence the PPF) Both front and rear sub frames refurbed and treated, new brakes all round, wheels and calipers refurbed, New Infotainment fitted with rear camera, all new Prodrive springs fitted, stainless steel exhaust with reduced middle box whilst retainingthe Prodrive silencers and also a Celtic tuning remap, lots of other small jobs done which reflects on clean MOTs since Ive owned it, next job will be the cam chain.
All of the above has been over the time of ownership so not as bad as it sounds but am a great believer in preventive maintenance
As far as driving it goes it gets a lot of attention!! , I love the way it handles, rock solid and just goes where you point it without any drama, just wish the 2.2 had a bit more get up and go, have thought about taking it to Autodelta to see about getting it Supercharged but that's in the future
If you are after a Prodrive I would say go for it but remain aware that they do need tender loving care to keep them in good shape

I sold mine two months ago after owning for over 9 years. Super car but I needed to reduce the fleet size and I fancied a change. The only actual repair I had to do in 9 years was the usual power steering hose failure which was fixed easily and cheaply by a local Italian car independent and new springs. The rest was just maintenance.
No rattles, nothing fell off and everything worked. Rear lights can fill with condensation and one of mine did this. The drivers window switch needs a few pushes but I believe can be sorted. Keep an eye on the wheel arches which had just started to show signs of rust on my 2009 car.
I got the Celtic tune on mine which smooths it out a bit a low revs. Also needed to replace the centre exhaust section with a stainless steel one.
Its a lovely car. Corners hard and flat and sounds great for a 4 cylinder. 33mpg on a long journey but 27mpg otherwise.
Enjoy.
