Tempted to buy an Apple Nano for Mrs Tip, but have heard horror stories about the screens cracking.

I think it was just one batch that cracked/scratched and they are replacing them. I guess this means any that haven't been sold are not being sold.

I've got a 40Gb 'normal' iPod and just bought the other half a 6Gb Mini - the screen problem with the Nano is supposedly confined to a bad batch, but I had a look at a Nano yesterday in the Trafford Centre and the whole front was fairly badly scratched / marked considering it was in a display case. I have a feeling they won't be very hard wearing at all, but they do look very cool. The Mini, although now end of life is much tougher as it's case is extruded aluminium.

HMMMM Apple

My Daughter is on her second IPod-the first failed due to its hard drive giving up-the second gave her shocks through the headphones- quite painfull shocks. The Apple retailer didn't want to know,Apple suggested we buy a third.

My son is on his second Ishuffle-the first just stopped working. Apple replaced it eventualy-took ages.

So for us thats a 75% failure rate.

Won't be buying Apple again
