I want something to quickly clean up spills as well as deeper cleaning like mattresses, sofa etc etc around the house.
In the detailing world, those Vax spotcleaners were doing the rounds a year ago, every detailer had a :sponsored: video on them, but the results did speak for themselves on car upholstery.
I have a wet/dry vac though, so not sure a dedicated machine is worth it. Instead I could spray some kind of solution all over the mattress, then agitate with one of those brushes on a drill, then extract with the wet/dry vac. Or am I missing a trick?
I suppose the hardest part is finding a chemical with some good cleaning power. Ideally leaving a nice smell

I would get a pro in, like Chem-Dry. Not cheap but good.

We have a Vax spot wash and it's been brilliant. Use it regularly to clean the sofas that the dogs use and when we've had the kids vomit on the carpet it's been an absolute life saver. Couldn't imagine cleaning that up without it!

Extracts water really well. £99 well spent! My parents have the bissell version which is almost identical and see shark now do one too.

We did borrow our inlaws upright wet vac Vax recently to do a couple of room carpets. I also used that on the sofa and it was quicker and easier with a much bigger clean water tank and wider head. It obvs takes up more space to store though. They picked it up for £130 on sale at B&M.

Ok for small areas I find, as the name suggests really.

If you have lots of soft furnishings and like to keep them clean then one of these is a good investment.
I got one donkeys years ago to clean a filthy Mk 2 astra GTE.

Over the years its been used on and off and has never missed a beat , well worth the money.

I was cleaning the seats on my daughters new car the other day ( it smelt a bit dog ) and had run out of the old no name cleaning stuff i had , so a quick trip to screwfix and i got this

https://www.screwfix.com/p/scrubb-carpet-shampoo-e...

It did a great job ,didn’t leave any marks or residue behind when it dries, and no over powering smell afterwards…….just got it clean.

They weren’t even that dirty but still pulled a lot of grime out. ( 3rd pass )

Mostly the same, here - just change the dog to overly enthusiastic child painters when it comes to painting on the carpet - or spilling milk into the carpet of the car. (OK, the milk wasn't their fault, leaky bottle from the shop but them standing on the bottles did not help)

Mine now pushing 15 years old and is starting to show its age, but still works well.

Grab a 5 ltr bottle of screwfix carpet cleaner, works well!

I have the Shark Stain Striker and it's great for small areas. I recently did a 1.5m circular rug and it was hard work, but brought it up well.

I have a Vax Pet wet and dry vacuum that I purchased 18 years ago and it is brilliant. I have never had a problem with it, and I only recently changed the filters for the firsttime.

I have cleaned so many car interiors with it, and every time they come up like new. My parents purchased a camper van and the previous owners dogs had been sleeping in the front seats and they were filthy. They actually purchased some seat covers for them, but I said let me have a go at cleaning them.

Less than ah hour with a drill brush and the Vax and they looked like new again, they never fitted the covers.

I recently used it to clean the sofa and again it got out all the little food stains.

It is quite scary the state of the water afterwards though.
