Help identifying Tein coil-overs for NC
Discussion
A friend bought an NC which came with coil-overs and he's removed them for a more expensive brand and I'm acquiring them.
He is under the impression they were fitted by BBR and they're the "Flex Z", which makes sense as they're listed on BBR's website.
However, looking at the photo he sent vs the stock image on BBR website and elsewhere. they look quite different.

Can anyone shed any light?
They must fit, as they came off his car, but it's confusing why they look so different. I've circled the bits that look different.

They are definitely nc/rx8 coilovers. The colour suggests they are tein.
Unless they are very very cheap, and your main motivation is to get it low I wouldn't waste your money. In my experience the teins are slightly (emphasis on slight) better quality than the maxpeedingrods level coilovers, in that you won't suffer a blown shock/broken top mount or cracked weld within a month or so, but the damping Vs spring rate and the quality of valving is so poor you will not set the car up to handle well, imo they are complete junk.
The next step up is to Meister's and the difference in quality and capability is Yugo to Ferrari. Above those you are spending an enormous amount more money for relatively small gains.
