There's some decent pubs on the Shore like Malt and Hops, and Teuchter's Landing nearby. Also the Port o' Leith (a bit quieter than a few years ago) and Nobles beside it.
Foodwise, I'm not sure as I don't eat out down there much but check tripadvisor for recommendations if nobody else chips in.

For eating, Fishers was always a favourite of mine when I used to spend some time there.

I used to love the Port o' Leith. When there were were a couple of construction / diving vessels in at the same time, it was jumping.

The first time I walked in there, about 6pm on a summer Saturday there were a couple of people up dancing on the bar.
