A Firestick?

Totally legal. They're made by Amazon.

If it's IPTV and that sort of thing many of those aren't legal in the same way dodgy Sky subscriptions aren't legal.

Firesticks are perfectly legal. What you load onto them may not be.

Of course they're dodgy, and you've no idea what might be lurking on there.

Though it is funny seeing the news stories from FACT that strongly imply they're kicking users' doors in for the terrible illegality of their dodgy Firesticks, when the reality of it is they're only ever going after the sellers.

Who is placing the ads - Amazon or some dodgy third party promising free movies and sports coverage forever?

A Firestick bought from Amazon is perfectly legal.

A Firestick loaded with IPTV from a third party isn't. I have IPTV on my Chromecast devices which I set up myself rather than paying a third party to do it.
