Haven't seen a discussion topic (sorry if I've missed it) on the inbound object supposedly showing signs of a planned / navigated route through the solar system.

What are we thinking?

I for one welcome our new alien overlords and would like to state that as a PHer of some influence that i would be useful in rounding up others to toil in their underground mines.

Imagine you have the technology to travel 1000s of light years across the universe to reach earth....why would you actually need to come here surely your tech would allow you to know everything about our existence from a distance or in a way we had no way of detecting. Also if you wanted to take over given your advanced knowledge it would be like medieval knights facing the Royal Marines.

Deep substrate foliated Kalkite, obviously.

Also any veteran Civ player knows better than to attack those spearmen with a helicopter.

It can’t be intelligent life, as it wants to come here…

Speaking of which, who's looking forward to Villeneuve's interpretation of Rendezvous with Rama? I certainly am!!

Do we have a wisecracking misfit bunch of specialist deep core drillers, we can convert to fully blown astronauts in a few months, readily available on standby?

As soon as I saw the muddy prints of Avi Loeb talking about aliens I gave up. That man's an absolute crackpot.

I gather the minimum alien requirement for Planetary Overseer is 300 Synodic PH months, and woe-betide you if you try it on with Sidereal, Anomalistic, Draconic or Tropical months - they're very picky (for summary eye-ball extraction values of "picky") about that sort of thing, but I think we can squeeze you in as Junior Under-HenchPerson [Red Jersey Category]

Given it's the third of such objects...I reckon it's Rama.

Wonder what happened to that film..
