May I just ask - do new cars, like my DB12, does it come with Summer or Winter tyres? Seeing as we are not the types, like Europeans, to change in the Winter time?

My pressure says they should be 36psi all over on all 4 tyres

Assuming you are in the UK as your profile states, then unless you asked for something different your DB12 probably came with normal summer tyres.

You can easily tell a winter tyre by looking for the snowflake and/or mountain symbols on the sidewall

edited to add

The tyre pressures specified will depend on the load on the tyre and the tyre construction. In my non-AML vehicle experience of winter tyres, they mostly use the same pressures as their summer equivalents

Yes it’s a UK car.

The AM app gives different tyre loads for winter and summer tyres. All the same for winter (36) and 36 (F) and 42 (R) for summer

DB12 should be on Aston specific Michelin PS5? Hence summer tyre…unless you specified otherwise.

Pressures as per handbook or sticker normally inside the door / sill, not unusual to be different back to front?

I'd be inclined to go with the pressures indicated on the tyre label which should be on the shut face of one of the doors, usually driver side

It would appear that the Owner's Guide disagrees with your app

This is an image from the 24MY Guide, but the 25MY shows the same data. This tells me that the pressures should be the same front and back under all conditions. For UK speeds the pressures are 34 psi front; 34 psi rear - this is for speeds up to 167 mph. If you fancy spending time at His Majesty's pleasure or are going for a blast on the autobahns, for speeds over 167 mph the pressures should be increased to 42 psi for front and rear

The Guide shows the pressures for winter tyres as 36 psi front and rear. Interestingly, the Guide says the winter tyres for the rear on a DB12 are a different size to the summer tyres, and they are of a different construction as they have a lower rated top speed. The Guide also talks about needing winter wheels to fit winter tyres.

For the avoidance of doubt, in winter you do not inflate your summer tyres to the pressures shown for winter tyres. Tyre pressures should only be checked with the tyres cold.

In terms of which to believe, then go with the tyre label on the car, then the printed Owner's Guide. From what you've written the app sounds highly suspect, unless you've misunderstood it. If you're still concerned then talk to your dealer.

Also noted, the winters are a slightly narrower tyre (315 instead of 325), which will give a little more ground pressure & 'bite'.

FWIW - Even for our mild climate, winter tyres do make a difference. The rubber compound is 'stickier' at the lower temperatures and the tread pattern is usually better at dispersing water.

They should fit Pirelli on the db12...each time its Michelin, it pissed me off I see michelin on an Aston....even if the ps5 is good? It's maybe the only tire they made well....why it will leave me in doubts until the last km. Each time I had Michelin fitted, I could not wait to see the end to change them and lost control a few times ...

To clarify the above, the DB12 is not fitted with high performance PS5 tyres.

The OEM tyre fitted is the ultra high performance PSS5, which replaces the PS4S.

The PS4S was considered an excellent tyre and regularly comes out top in comparison tests.

However it is now getting on a bit and considered to be bettered by the Continental Sport Contact 7.

The SC7 has recently just been edged by the new Pirelli PZ5.

I can t yet find a comparison test between the PZ5 and the PSS5 - the margins are likely to be very small and the main decider will be availability in the tyre size and spec. required.

From personal experience on several high output RWD cars the SC7 were better on the front axle for a touch more response, with PS4S on the rear - the handling balance with this combination proved to be excellent.

I currently have PZ4 on my AM6 Vantage and, whilst they are fine once warm, they are quite awful when cold and in lower ambient temperatures. The sidewalls are stiffer than on comparable tyres and this makes the car hop when reversing on lock and break traction suddenly with minor provocation until the pressures have increased by at least 0.2 bar, at which point they start to perform as they should.
