Air filter change?

As a recently new proud owner of a 2003 996, I was wondering if anyone had tried to fit a K&N air filter to their 996 and what effect this had?

I don't know about the effect on power delivery but my personal view is that I am sceptical of the filtering ability of anything you can hold up to the light and see through.

I can't vouch for a K&N, but I've been very pleased with my BMC F1.

with any of these oil-impregnated filters please be careful about excess oil getting impaled on the MAF causing a CEL error. Wrap the filter in newspaper overnight prior to fitting.
