Hi all. I’m well overdue an oil change which I now regret not doing a while ago. I believe my wet belt could be degrading so a couple of questions.

If I get the oil and filter changed imminently, will that help prevent any further issue if the belt has started to go a bit?

Or would it be pointless and best just to get it replaced asap

I am looking for some recommendations of a good mechanic to do the wet belt. I’m based in Northampton but don’t mind travelling a bit. One I’ve seen recommended on Facebook groups is a PL Automotive in Essex so wondering if anyone has used Phil before?

1 late oil change won't make much difference depending on how late and the previous service history and the milage/age of the current belt. So, how longs a piece of string.

Going by the Facebook videos I watch a garage called The Car Edition in Huntingdon seem to do loads of wet belts and seem pretty professional.

I did my own on my partners car, the amount I had to take off to do it was pretty insane.

I'll recommend the car edition ltd also at huntingdon. Guys really know there stuff and take pride doing things right.

If your belt has already started deteriorating then the damage is done to the belt and it's just going to get much worse.
