Hi all,

Bit of an off-topic one, but hoping there are a few PHers who work in the IT or infrastructure space. I have been looking into the Certified Data Centre Specialist / Professional certifications – both related to data centre design, power, cooling, TIA-942 compliance, etc. Mostly aimed at infrastructure engineers, facilities teams, or anyone involved in large-scale IT environments.

Just wondering:

  • Anyone here actually taken CDCP or CDCS?
  • Was it worth the time/money?
  • Any real-world applications or career benefits you’ve seen from it?
I am currently reviewing some CDCS prep materials from Pass4Future, which seem to have CDCS practice questions and an exam test. I’d be curious if anyone has used their content for this cert, or if you’d recommend sticking to official training instead. I work on the technical/engineering side, and while this isn’t core to my day job, I’ve recently been involved with some data room upgrades, and I’m keen to build a bit more formal understanding of best practices. Always good to hear from folks who’ve done it, or even if you think there are better alternatives (Uptime Institute, Cisco, etc.).
