In a surprise move, Suzuki has updated the GSX-R1000 to Euro 5+ emission standards so it can be sold in Europe again.

I’d like to see Suzuki put the gsxr engine and some high end suspension and brakes on the gsx s.

I wonder how many the expect to sell in the uk. Unless the get picked up in super stock or BSB I can’t see that much interest.

I'm interested to see what difference an exhaust and map makes, given the aim of the engine updates seems to be entirely based around 'potential'!?

Suzuki seem to always be pretty competitively priced as well, so I'm already wondering what 'new track bike man maths' might be possible...

I suspect that would cannibalise sales too much based on who has the cash to buy brand new litre bikes these days. Good that the big Gixer is back as an option.

If it's reasonably priced and I fit then I could see me getting one as my first sports bike. Dealer isn't far from me either which is a bonus. Doesn't have the Ohlins EC like more expensive bikes which should count in it's favour as it's ideal for those who track and tinker anyway. Never had a 4cyl so would be another first for me too. The CBR's are a bit out of price range and insurance here is silly on them. Not sure why.

Check out the ZX10R too, I just picked up a bargain 2024 ZX10RR with only 600 miles. I'm turning that into my track bike.

Who looks at the mantle piece when they are poking the fire?

That said the do have a tft on other models they could put on it.

You'll be looking at it a fair bit of you ride it on the road!

And yes, the dash on the new 8 models is a nice LCD.

I can't imagine how you'd set up all the lean sensitive whatsits on that awful retro dash. Seems like a really strange decision for their range topping bike. Maybe it'll be really cheap though.

Good to see it back.

Quite surprising really as I thought Suzuki had given up on it, and racing.

Dash doesn't bother me at all.

If cheap it'll be a great cheap track or 1000 road bike

Near identical to my L8 so I won't be changing just yet

Great to see it back and I miss the days when there were literally thousands of sports bikes everywhere.

Let’s hope people buy them.

Pretty much the whole bike is pointless but here we are. Those winglets look like they'll be handy for sitting your cup of tea on when you're stopped for a brew - when the bike is on its sidestand, the one on the right-hand side looks to be just at the right angle.
