From next year BAR will be no longer, as the team will be 100% Honda, and named Honda Something-Or-Other (according to Autosport)

So, it is a pretty safe bet that they will win the WC in the next five years - will it be Rubens or Jenson :scratchchin:

Also, rumors of an eleventh team next year supplied with honda engines, and a certain T Sato driving.

All interesting news

Honda also said it would rename the new team in agreement with future sponsors. "Basically it will be 100 percent Honda from 2006," Oshima said. "We will complete the buyout by the end of the year. We have a highly motivated team and we expect to be much stronger."

He added: "The name will be Honda something-or-other but we will have to talk with the sponsors before making that decision."
They are talking about giving sponsors billing in the team name - which is a remarkably grown up approach in these times of rising costs.

Mind you, they are head to head with Toyota - or should that be Panasonic Toyota Racing. Having their name first though could be seen as a bit of one-upmanship .

It's 'Ferrari' not Ferrari-Ferrari or Fiat-Ferrari

Remember, Honda was going to have its own team five years or so ago and that got canned when Harvey Postlewaite died.

I'd put Honda as the front-runner for next year.

Yes I know I was being facetious.

I'll be very interested to see what happens with this new team for next year. I'd put a tenner on it being GP2 outfit Arden - they've been planning an F1 effort for some time now.

Like to agree with that.

However, Christian Horner is somewhat tied up in the F1 padock at the moment, which won't help their chances, neither will getting beaten by ART in GP2 (and A1GP - not that that is particularly relevant).

We shall watch and learn.

I'm not sure that simply by taking complete control will guarantee them success in the next five years, but I'm pretty confident, they'll be at least one of the leading candidates and I'll be watching their progress with interest.

F1's getting more interesting by the day.

No it's not. Marlboro Ferrari. Or Ferrari Marlboro I forget.

Same as "Cannon Williams Renault", sometimes the sponcer insists they get theri name added to the team name.

So it could well be Honda Durex.

Not unless its powered by a rubber band in 2006.

It would be Durex Honda. the Engine manufacturer always goes second. And I always thought that even Ferrari's were written in the race prgrammes as Ferrari-Ferrari for chassis constructor and engine manufacturer.

Same as Williams-Renault (or BMW) And McLaren-Mercedes etc.
