Photography Competition August - Street
Discussion
The competition theme for August is Street
It could be lonely and deserted, a busy shopping area or a street party, a big scene or a candid portrait - up to you
Good luck!
The photos taken must be your own work
The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month.
The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for following month and judges it at the end of the month
Entries and discussion on a single thread, please.
All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.
Winners should update the Competition Wiki (it's easy)
Photos entered can be as large as you like, although bear in mind if too large, it may not be possible to see the whole image on some screens. Links to larger versions are permissible.
If after 7 days of a competition ending, either a winner has not been declared, or the winner has not created a new thread, a new thread should be started, with the topic set as whatever the topic was 10 years ago, based on this wiki.

Thanks everybody for some cracking entries.
Third place goes to:
djsmith - Something quite calming about this one, the lovely muted colours and focus on the three figures, but with a sense of the bustle in the distance.
zalrak - I'm glad you decided to put this back in! The saturated reds & greens give it the feel of a certain type of Christmas card and you can smell the wafts of beer from the door of the Temple Bar.
7 5 7 - Lovely combination of fast & slow movement, the guy on the ladder centre-frame going about his task, sense of the trudge to work. It feels like we're people-watching from a coffee shop. Nice.

I put this on earlier and then took it off as I know little about photography and was out of my depth but thought this was not bad for an iPhone pic.

Thank you for the kind words! I have to admit to having entered said Temple Bar a few moments after taking this and the beer was rather nice - the music was good too...zalrak - I'm glad you decided to put this back in! Well done to 7 5 7
