I think I know the answer to this but I’m going to ask it anyway!
January 2017 718 Boxster so eight and a half years old with 39,000 miles - bought by me at 8 months old and car is immaculate.
Dealer serviced up to 4 years then Porsche independent after that.
I’ve noticed some rust bubbling on all wheel arch edges and internally where the arch meets the wings probably worse on the rears - not visible looking at the car - only discovered by me after taking wheel arch liners off and having a good look around - have to say I was a bit shocked.
There wasn’t much crud there but scraped out anyway and the liners were pretty clean.
How would I stand with Porsche regarding a claim (obviously it hasn’t had the 6 & 8 year body inspection by them)?
Am I wasting my time even asking Porsche?

Always worth asking. I was refused repair work at 4 years on thr bonnet catch as I had not lived close enough to a dealer at the 2 year service. For corrosion at 4 years due to a steel catch on an aluminium bonnet should almost be a recall but NO porsche decided to ignore their car owner in Lincolnshire.
At the end of the day, you drive to the dealer and ask the question. Worst case, they say no.

Yes I agree - Porsche have a bit of a reputation of weedling out of warranty claims but let’s see.
I know people who’ve had BMWs and VW Golfs who have successfully claimed despite not going through main dealer servicing.

I suspect the lack of body inspections at 6/8 years old will be the issue as the corrosion could have been identified earlier with a cheaper repair. Whether they would have removed the liners, identified the corrosion and then told you it was there is a different can of worms.

That said, nothing ventured nothing gained so make an appointment and have a trip.
