Anyone come back from France recently? Where is diesel cheapest, in the UK or France? I did Google to see and AI said France is cheaper but other sites said UK is cheaper so cannot get a definitive answer!

Thanks!

Obviously it can vary depending where you buy it but the current average in France is around 1.64 a litre, which is roughly £1.45. I would say the price difference is too small to really be bothered about it.

Just looking at my French petrol app - cheapest supermarket diesel is around €1.61 or £1.40. Not sure how this compares to the UK.

Thanks all, yes does seem close enough to no bother about it. Miss the days when French diesel was half the price!

For a while it was considerably more expensive than unleaded. Fortunately that was reversed by the yellow jackets.

It's worth looking out for service stations run by a supermarket rather than the fuel companies.
There's a LeClerc one near Dole that I use regularly on the run to the Alps - it's at least €0.20 per litre cheaper than the usual suspects. (I know the off-autoroute stations are cheaper but cba).

Leclerc is always my default source for cheap fuel. Was there last week (Vichy) and it worked out close to UK pricing, but that was for E10.
