I'm not a great one for fast food. The nearest I get is a Tesco meal deal once a month when on a road trip to visit the MIL.
Twice I have had a Subway. Both times they were utter crap. First time was a breakfast - bacon and cheese, the second was Teriyaki chicken.
Was this a rare experience or am I better just giving it a swerve.

It used to be "ok", but went downhill quickly, or at least the ones local to us did. Added to the surly staff, they lost a lot of custom and I've seen two of them closed down recently.
Same here, used to like them but went downhill big time couple years ago I thought. Not had one for a long time. It's been a few years since I've been, I used to be a semi-regular customer as there were convenient Subways near a couple of our offices and I'd previously have said it was ok, as long as you picked the right things from the menu, but like a lot of places I think they tried to keep prices down by cutting the quality of the ingredients and there wasn't a lot of headroom to cut, so the last couple of times I went were bad enough to put me off completely.
They always smelt a lot better than they tasted.
Had fond memories of Subway footlongs years ago in the early 2000's they were a real novelty and we were occasionally bought them as a treat by the boss at the time but they must have changed the recipe as the last one I ate recently had stodgy bread and a nasty gloopy texture.

M1 J29a services has a Greggs and a Subway. After trying both, I can honestly say that - in terms of a fast snack on the run - Greggs does everything far better at about half the price. And I'd rather give my money to a great British enterprise.
...and, of course, Subway doesn't do the motorway travellers' essentials like pasties and sausage rolls!
And their tea is sh*te.

I struggle to understand their menu and pricing, I mean I know it's all up there en the board but there seems to be so much information displayed for what is simply a sandwich.
I used to buy their 'Sub of the day' that used to be priced at say £5 as a meal deal. Mine would always come to £8 and I could never understand why until I asked and was told it was because I had said yes to their 'cheeses & toasted' question, which put it outside of the deal.
